Natalie Wood’s death has left authorities and fans asking many unanswered questions for decades. However, a new podcast, “Fatal Voyage” has reportedly unleashed several new and interesting secrets about the actresses’ mysterious death.

Natalie Wood has been dead for more than three decades, and during all these years the circumstances surrounding her passing have remained a huge topic of interest, not only with celebrity news fans but the authorities according to the N.E.

Wood died Thanksgiving weekend in 1981 at the age of 43. The actress’ body was found mysteriously floating in the water off Santa Catalina Island on Nov. 29, 1981. The “West Side Story” star was reported to have been traveling on the family’s yacht Splendour with her husband Robert Wagner, the ship’s Capt. Dennis Davern, and Wood’s friend, actor Christopher Walken.

A new 12-part series, titled “Fatal Voyage: The Mysterious Death of Natalie Wood,” will launch on July 20, the day that the doomed screen siren would have turned 80 years old. During the podcast’s first episode homicide detective Ralph Hernandez, will be revealing that the bruises found on Wood’s body at the time of her death are consistent with her being the “victim of assault,” which is not, as the original 1981 report concluded.

Hernandez stated, “The bottom line is, we have someone who died under very suspicious circumstances, and it’s just as important of a case as a murder, but our job is to get to the truth and to hopefully come up with enough evidence to prove that truth.

The fact is that we have a lot of information as to the events of what occurred that evening,” added Hernandez. “We have a lot of evidence that tends to point to a very suspicious death and would certainly indicate the possibility of foul play.” Details from the original death report in 1981 state that Natalie Wood’s body was found in the water by a restaurant owner after an apparent night of drinking. She dressed in a nightgown and a red jacket.

Police investigations originally found Natalie Wood’s death to be an accident, following Robert Wagner’s account of the evening stating that he believed Wood slipped while trying to board a dinghy, hit her head and drowned.

However, in February of this year, it was announced that following further investigations that Robert Wagner has been named as a person of interest in the death of actress Natalie Wood. Following a grueling 48 hours of questioning, and new witnesses coming forward it now appears as if Robert Wagner, 88, may have played more of a role in the events before Wood’s death than revealed in past investigations.

The new information is very interesting and convincing, it has opened up a whole new batch of questions that is said to be revealed throughout the podcast series. Back in February, Wood’s sister, former Bond girl Lana Wood, told Fox News she was hoping to finally get closure for the mysterious death of her older sibling.

It will examine plausible theories about what really happened during Wood’s final hours — and address whether Robert Wagner is considered a “person of interest” in the case. Something that has been questioned by Natalie Wood’s family, friends and fans for decades.
