The cast of One Tree Hill has revealed that they would consider a reunion on one condition. That condition according to Teen Vogue is that Mark Schwahn has nothing to do with it.
Bethany Joy Lenz and Jana Kramer who starred as Haley James and Alex Dupre on the long-running series state are standing united against Schwahn’s interaction with a possible One Tree Hill reunion.
“None of it would have to go to the showrunner [Mark Schwahn],” Bethany said about Schwahn. In 2017, Mark Schwahn was accused of sexually harassing 18 women.
“The problem is the creator of the show, or any incarnation of the show…that’s a big issue. And I think that would be the big thing standing in the way.”
“Unless he was willing to donate it all or something,” Bethany added a possible solution to doing a reboot with Schwahn needing to be involved. “It would be great to go back and not have it feel like it was divided in any way or when we were going through a rough patch,” she continued.
Jana Kramer recalls her time on the series revealing she felt the cast was a “very divided set” when she arrived, seven seasons in. “I feel like everyone already kinda had their places and it was either, ‘You’re going to be on the A-team or the B-team,” she said. “It was just tricky.” Jana added that she believed Schwahn “created that environment.”
“I think we’re all older now,” Bethany said. “It’d be so much easier to really enjoy each other’s company and enjoy showing up at work, appreciate having a job, appreciate being someplace where we know we have a huge fan base.”
As previously reported In April of 2018, Chad Michael Murray, who played teen heartthrob Lucas Scott stated he is very aware of just how large the OTH fan base is, and is asked daily by fans about a reunion.
One Tree Hill continues to be a huge fan favorite and thanks to streaming venues such as Netflix and Hulu new generations of fans are born every day.
Facebook groups dedicated to the show reveal the true dedication of fans across the globe. A One Tree Hill reunion is fans’ biggest request. Each day viewers hope in the near future that their wishes will be granted and they will finally be reunited with their favorite OTH characters. Fingers crossed!
