Lisa Marie Presley continues to fight court battle after court battle where her children are concerned. Lisa Maria was reportedly hauled back into court to convince a judge to allow her 11-year-old twin daughters Harper and Finley permission to leave the state to attend the 85th birthday celebration of Elvis Presley at Graceland mansion.
Lisa Marie Presley filed the emergency legal documents this week in a Los Angeles court in hopes of convincing the judge to allow the children to pay tribute to their late grandfather at the yearly event with the Presley family according to The Blast.
Presley’s legal team appeared in court early Tuesday morning stating to the judge that Elvis’ grandchildren should be allowed to attend the memorial festivities.
However, as previously reported Lisa Marie Presley is going through a nasty divorce and custody battle with ex- Michael Lockwood which is due to come to a close late this summer.
Lockwood, who was recently forced to fork over thousands of dollars in legal fees to Lisa is throwing down a major roadblock where it comes to the twins.
At this time there is a standing order in the divorce case that clearly states that Harper and Finley can not travel out of state without consent from the other parent, or from the court.
Sadly, it appears as if Lockwood has one-uped Lisa Marie on this case according to the media report the judge denied Lisa’s request stating it did not rise to the level of an “emergency.”
This news is not going over too well with Lisa Maria Presley is reportedly heartbroken that her daughters are being forced to miss the “milestone” event, a time in their family history that they will never get back.
Every year on January 8 Graceland mansion hosts a celebratory birthday remembrance event for Elvis. Fans travel hundreds of miles to attend the festivities.
This year per the Graceland website, the event will be a “milestone as we celebrate Elvis’ 85th Birthday! Enjoy four days of birthday festivities, plus special guests Priscilla Presley and Jerry Schilling. Events this year include our annual Elvis Birthday Proclamation Ceremony on January 8, and an Elvis Birthday Bash.”
The website also states that the party will include “private tours of Graceland Mansion with Priscilla Presley, a Birthday Celebration Concert featuring Terry Mike Jeffrey and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, fan-favorite concert Elvis: Live in Concert featuring The TCB Band, and much more! A Birthday Celebration not-to-be-missed!”
As previously reported, Lisa Marie Presley is scheduled back in court to begin her divorce trial proceedings on July 20, 2020. Needless to say, Elvis Presley fans are saddened by the fact that Lisa Marie Presley’s daughters have been denied the unique opportunity to celebrate such a memorable Presley family event.
