Shameless Season 11 is set to be the final go-round for the Gallagher family, and viewers have a lot of theories about what may happen during the last season of the fan-favorite Showtime comedy/drama, including the most shocking death of the series.
It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve seen a new episode of Shameless, and with the Covid-19 pandemic, so many of or favorite shows are running behind. However, Showtime recently confirmed that the Gallaghers will be back in action in December.

So, what’s in store for the dysfunctional family in Season 11? It’s sure to be an epic ride as the story of Frank’s wild offspring concludes. While no certain storylines have been confirmed, it seems that there is a high chance that fans will see at least one more shocking death before the series takes its curtain call in early 2021.
Viewers who have been watching the show for years know that Frank’s wife, Monica, died a few seasons ago. Most of the children, including Fiona, Debbie, Carl, Liam, and Lip didn’t take the death too hard. Monica had never been much of a mother, and she wasn’t a part of their everyday lives. However, her son Ian did take the death hard, comparing himself and his battle with bipolar disorder to that of his mother’s mental health issues.
Will Frank Gallagher die in the final season?
Now that the Gallagher kids are down one problematic parent, will the show end with them losing their alcohol, drug-addicted father Frank as well.
It seems fitting that Frank would die in the last few episodes of the show. The show was built around Frank’s addiction issues and how it impacted his children. Their struggle was also to survive in the face of poor education, lack of parenting, and financial problems, most of which caused by Frank and Monica’s selfish ways.
The oldest of the Gallagher children, Fiona (Emmy Rossum) has already flown the coop. Back in Season 9 Fiona decided to take some money that she earned and leave Chicago, and her stressful family behind.
It’s not yet known if Rossum will make her return in the final episodes to reprise the role of Fiona, but fans are keeping their fingers crossed that she’ll be back to portray the character one final time before the series wraps up, perhaps at Frank’s funeral?

“Since #Shameless is ending with a final 11th season this summer I better see Sheila back. Joan Cusack warmed my heart with that character. Emmy Rossum needs to appear too. Oh, and Frank needs to die,” another wrote.
