HBO to add Rapture drama to lineup in June

The Leftovers is the new anticipated drama that will be coming to HBO this June to fill in the spot of The Game Of Thrones after their Season 4 finale wrap up.

The Leftovers teaser trailer is out and it has many HBO drama lovers penciling it in for their television viewing this June.

‘And like that, they were gone’: Teaser trailer for HBO’s The Leftovers with Justin Theroux reveals 140 million disappear in Rapture

Jennifer Aniston‘s fiance Justin Theroux will head up the new dram which will focus on Theroux dealing with the aftermath after a Rapture-like event takes place leaving only a number behind after 140 million others disappear.

The Leftovers teaser trailer depicts a 45 second peek into the show that appears to have fans talking with interest about the new HBO project.

The trailer states:

‘Two percent doesn’t sound like much, but two percent of the entire planet, of every person on it,’ the voice-over said amid images of people walking on city sidewalks and driving in heavy traffic.

‘That’s more than the world’s 10 largest cities combined. That’s more than every death from every war in the 20th century,’ the explanation continued.

‘If every one of those people joined hands they would wrap around the world six times. It’s 140 million people,’ the voice-over said as a mother put her child into a car seat and slammed the door.

The Leftovers is based on a 2011 novel by 52-year-old writer Tom Perrotta, and was created by Tom and 40-year-old Damon Lindelof the co-creator and showrunner of the television show Lost.

The Leftover’s show HBO promise to be the next big cable hit

The Leftovers series will follow the suburb of Mapleton that tries to cope with the disappearance of more than 100 residents with Justin Theroux portraying chief of police Kevin Garvey.

If HBO’s choices of new made for cable drama’s continues at the success rate they have been experiencing for the past several years, odds are that The Leftovers will soon be added to their list of hits in the near future.

Sounds like a real nail biter, and a survival series that could be a little Walking Dead like, minus the zombies.

The Leftovers has been scheduled to premiere on June 15 after the fourth season finale of HBO’s popular medieval fantasy Game Of Thrones.
