Demi Lovato is lucky to be alive after suffering a near-fatal drug overdose back on July 24. New details about Demi’s tragic overdose have been revealed and they are pretty scary according to TMZ.

Demi Lovato’s near-tragic death day began around 4 AM after the “Sober” singer started texting a drug dealer to stop by her home. TMZ claims that sources with ‘direct knowledge’of Lovato’s recent situation claim that Demi had been partying in West Hollywood when she began texting her drug contact.

The source reveals that after receiving the message from Demi the dealer arrived at the singer’s home and that he and Demi began freebasing Oxycodone on a piece of tin foil. It was also stated that Demi was UNAWARE, but, the drug dealer she had called had a habit of buying *BAD* drugs from Mexico and appears to have gotten hold of a batch that was laced with the deadly drug fentanyl.

This is the same drug responsible for killing Prince and Lil Peep. The celebrity news site also claims that their sources tell them that the dealer made a quick getaway from Demi Lovato‘s home once it was discovered that Demi was in bed and breathing hard.

It was also mentioned that Demi Lovato had also only been using this particular drug dealer since April. The events that followed have been nightmarish for Demi. As previously reported a member of Demi’s staff found the singer around 11:30 that same morning. Lovato had to be revived with Narcan and was hospitalized for two weeks before being convinced by family, friends and ex-love Wilmer Valderrama to check into rehab.

The scariest part is that despite Demi Lovato’s health condition following the overdose it is not fully known as to whether, or not, Demi fully understands just how close to becoming the latest in a rash of celebrity drug overdose deaths she actually was. Family, friends, and fans of Demi Lovato continue to express their support and great concern for the singer’s recovery from drug addiction.

It will be a long hard road, but, hopefully, with constant support and proper care Demi Lovato will become healthy, sober and take note of the second chance she has received at life.
