Joan Collins was forced to fight off an aggressive fan while shopping with a close friend in St, Tropez according to the D.M. reports.

The 85-year-old “Dynasty” star was approached by a male admirer asking to take a selfie with the actress. At first, Joan Collins smiled and obliged her adoring fan. However, one quick selfie snap was not quite enough to satisfy the relentless fan. Joan Collins quickly became very irritated and called the man obnoxious and rude when attempted to grab hold of her arm for more photos after Collins made it clear she was ready to move on and continue with her day.

A representative for Joan Collins spoke with D.M. stating that ‘Joan agreed to a photo and then the man roughly grabbed at her afterward and tried to pull her towards him.’

Aggressive and over eager fans come along with the territory of being a celebrity. While no celebrity should have to tolerate too much attention from their adoring fans, Joan Collins’ defense was minor to say the least as to what some other overly anxious and aggressive start struck fans have dealt with from other big name stars in the past.

In 2017, rapper 50 Cent dealt with a female fan who pulled him off stage during a concert by punching the fan squarely in the chest. Justin Bieber has also gotten physically dealt with fans on a number of occasions. In 2016, Biebs punched a fan in the face in Barcelona, after said fan reached into the window of the car where the singer was sitting prior to a show. Tim McGraw was forced to slap a fan away during a 2014 show after she grabbed his leg and refused to let go, ripping his jeans. Unfortunately for Tim, the fan later filed a suit against the singer, which was later settled out of court.

No one likes when someone else invades their personal space, however celebrities do expect some excited fans to over react to meeting them. Fans on the other hand need to remember, no matter who the celebrity or how much they are adored, stars are people too and they deserve to have their boundaries respected as much as the person.

The biggest rule of thumb most celebrities will agree upon when meeting fans, be polite, take your given autograph, or selfie thank them for their time and move on quietly. This leaves celebrities more open to interacting with fans, and makes the experience pleasant for all concerned.
