Kate Gosselin does not have as much money as most people might think. In fact, according to a recent report from In Touch Kate Gosselin‘s net-worth is shockingly low. Don’t let the big house, the fancy vacations and parties fool you, times are tough for the “Kate Plus 8” reality star. Reports reveal that if Gosselin were to cash out her assets today she would only have about $200,000.

Kate Gosselin claims majority of money made goes to kids education fund

While to many that amount these days sounds like a lot, but not when you are a single mom of 8, who does not receive child support at all to help take care of the kids. However, fans are questioning as to where did all of Kate Gosselin’s money go? Kate spent five seasons filming the once immensely popular TLC reality series “Jon and Kate Plus 8” with her now former husband Jon Gosselin.

Will Kate finally meet her Mr. Right?

It is reported that during that time Kate pulled in $250,000 per episode. There were 173 episodes and just a little simple math off the top of your head reveals there were millions of dollars made. This does not even include, specials, book money, and guest and hosting gigs, “Dancing With the Stars,” and “Celebrity Apprentice” paychecks.

Ok, even with eight kids to raise, that is a whole lotta cash. Kate claimed back in 2013 during an interview with Bethenny Frankel that she took the majority of the money made and put it aside in a college fund for each of the kids. “So I use coupons, we don’t wear top brands. Those things to me really aren’t overly important, but college, school, and their house, where they live is important.”

It takes a whole lot of money for 8 children

Time for more math Google claims that a private college tuition in 2017-2018 runs 35, 000 per year. We will even bump that to $50,000 adding in spending money, and necessities. that is $200,000 per child times 8 equals $1,600,000. This is if all kids attend a 4-year-private college on the overly high side. Odds of all eight Gosselin children doing so, doubtful.

But, back to the paychecks from Jon and Kate Plus 8, there is still a lot of money spent even with kids education funds, a house, yearly expenses and so far. This is not the first report that Kate Gosselin does not have a lot of money. Blasting News reported in 2017 that there was a possibility that Kate may have to return to nursing to support her kids.

Well, it looks as if Kate has found another way to add to the family income. Gosselin has signed on with TLC to film another reality series called “Kate Plus Date.” This one will follow the 43-year-old mom as she heads off into the world of dating again, in search of finding a mate. Kate claims she is “nervous” and is forcing herself to do the show.

She reveals what she is looking for in a man, he must have a career, be confident, a grown-up who can handle their own life. Okay, so someone totally opposite of her ex-husband Jon Gosselin. What Kate failed to mention is hopefully finding someone who loves kids, and can handle her strong willed-personality. Guess we will see how this goes for her.
