Lisa Marie Presley divorce details have revealed a lot of very personal issues for the daughter of the late King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley. Presley’s fourth divorce from husband Michael Lockwood looks to be her nastiest yet. In the divorce, Lockwood is demanding hundreds of thousands of dollars be paid by Presley to cover his legal fees. He is also demanding spousal support to the tune of $40,000 per month.
Drug use may have been a major factor in Lisa Marie Presley’s money problems
Lisa Marie recently revealed publicly that she is broke, she has nothing left of her Elvis Presley inheritance. In fact, she is so destitute she is living with her daughter Riley Keough, rent-free. Presley fans are very confused as to how Lisa Marie could possibly be broke considering how famous her father is. Presley claims she is broke because she trusted her business manager to take care of her money and investments.

She also claims that manager Barry Siegel’s poor management of her funds is the reason she is broke. Lisa has filed a $100 million lawsuit against Barry. Siegel has since filed a countersuit against Lisa Marie. Siegel claims Lisa Presley is a huge over spender and she was already in a lot of financial trouble before he came along. He also claims that despite telling Lisa to slow the spending, she continued to live above her means.

Fans of Lisa’s father Elvis are well aware that the King also had similar issues with money. But it appears that the two are even more alike than anyone would like to believe. Lisa Marie Presley has also come clean in the court docs about her drug problems. LMP reveals that she was “abusing cocaine Terribly” during the last three years of her marriage to Lockwood.
She also details her attempts to get clean, stating she went to Mexico three, or four times to rehab. However, cocaine has not been Lisa’s only drug problems. She also reveals that she had an addiction to prescription pain pills, and often combined them with alcohol.
“I had to go to rehab several times. I was a mess. I couldn’t stop,” she said in the bombshell documents obtained by Radar. “The last year of our marriage, I was abusing cocaine terribly,” Presley said. “It was bad, yeah.”
Fans now wonder if part of Lisa Marie Presley‘s financial devastation is due to drug addiction. Addiction is a costly habit, combine that with several trips to posh celebrity rehab facilities and you could blow through a rather sizable amount of cash. In 2016 following the news of her divorce, Lisa Marie checked into the Hills Treatment Center in Los Angeles for several months, costing $400,000 a month for help with addiction to painkillers.
Lockwood and Presley’s divorce is turning uglier by the day. Not is money a major issue in the divorce, but so is the custody of the couple’s twin daughters Harper and Finley. In the past, LMP has revealed she feared following down the dark path to the same tragic fate her father suffered. However, Lisa Marie Presley reveals she is sober now and plans to stay that way.
Still, her past drug issues could play a major part in the custody agreement. We wish her nothing but the best and hope she stays healthy.
