Giannis Antetokounmpo on the court.

The 2021 NBA Finals are right around the corner as there are only two teams left able to compete for a championship and they are the Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns.

Milwaukee has had a very tough run to the NBA Finals taking on teams such as the Brooklyn Nets and most recently the Atlanta Hawks who were a surprise Eastern Conference Finals team.

However, through thick and thin the Bucks made it through all their challenges with some spectacular games from Khris Middelton, even winning without superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo who missed the finals two games of the Eastern Conference Finals with a left knee hyperextension.

The Suns on the other end of things also had an amazing run to the NBA Finals beating the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers, sweeping the MVP and his Nuggets, and beating Chris Paul’s old team the Los Angeles Clippers to get Paul to his first career Finals appearance.

Even with Chris Paul out due to the league’s health and safety protocol for the first few games of the Western Conference Finals Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton took care of business and got some wins.

These two teams have experienced almost identical Finals pushes this year both beating a team that was in the Finals last year in the first round, both dealing with injuries, and even playing teams who were injured.

The Bucks and the Suns are fairly evenly matched when both at full strength but with all the injuries they have suffered, who knows if they will both be at their full strength for the whole series. Could this year be a case of whoever is healthiest will win?

2021 NBA Finals are riddled with uncertainty

According to Bleacher Report things should be interesting. “There will be no shortage of storylines either way. How healthy is Giannis? What about Booker’s nose? Which supporting cast has the edge? Will Suns head coach Monty Williams continue pulling all the right strings? Is Bucks head honcho Mike Budenholzer getting enough credit? Will featuring two non-glamour markets in the Finals be a blessing in disguise for the NBA?” the outlet asks.

Going back to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s health there is still no word on his status for Game 1 of the NBA Finals which is set to tip-off July 6th. If Giannis does not play it will be more difficult for the Bucks to win the series.

This series has the opportunity to be great. It all depends on if both teams are healthy and continue to be healthy, but if Giannis Antetokounmpo does not play the series, the Bucks will have a major cause for concern.
