“The Walking Dead” has officially cast its Negan! Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan will join the show as the notorious villain whom fans have been anticipating his arrival for a long time.
‘The Walking Dead’: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Cast As Negan
The Inquisitr reports that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will make his first appearance as Negan in “The Walking Dead” Season 6 finale as a guest star and then be bumped up to a series regular in Season 7. Negan is the violent leader of a group known as The Saints and is notorious to fans of the comic book for being the person who kills Glenn Rhee with his weapon of choice, a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, which he calls Lucille.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is known for being married to former “One Tree Hill” star Hilarie Burton as well as his role as Denny, Izzie’s patient and late fiance on “Grey’s Anatomy.” Morgan reportedly beat out a number of actors for the role of Negan on “The Walking Dead,” such as Matt Dillon, Timothy Olyphant, Garret Dillahun, and others.
AMCWho Will Negan Kill On ‘The Walking Dead?’
Meanwhile, as we now know when Negan is coming to “The Walking Dead,” the big question surrounds Glenn. If Glenn is really dead then will Negan brutally beat another character to death? Fans are speculating that Abraham Ford or even Daryl Dixon could end up suffering Glenn’s comic book fate, and if Daryl dies then fans will surely freak out!
However, if Glenn is still alive, why would the show lead us to believe he’s dead, bring him back to us, and then let him die next season at the hands of Negan? It all doesn’t seem right to us, and we’re thinking that some other character will surely suffer Glenn’s comic book death. Our money is on Abraham, because we can’t even imagine Daryl dying at all, let alone such a violent death.
Either way, fans better get ready for some serious drama on “The Walking Dead,” because Negan makes The Governor look tame! And SPOILER ALERT: Negan is currently still alive in the comic series. You’ve been warned!
