Will Smith has revealed what he really thinks about all the drama and chit chat surrounding his life including how he feels about his son Jaden Smith’s choice to wear women’s dresses, aunt Viv’s diss, and news on a new “Bad Boys 3” film.
Will Smith sat down with A.Dot on BBC’s online radio station 1Xtra for a new interview. When asked about his thoughts on his 17-year-old son Jaden Smith’s choices to wear girl’s clothes Smith stated that Jaden is fearless, adding Smith that he and Jada give their children the freedom to express themselves.
Will Smith does he agree with Jaden’s wardrobe choices?
“There’s a really powerful internal quality as an artist that as parents we encourage. You gotta get out on the edge. You have to try things. You have to be comfortable doing things that people don’t agree with and you have to be comfortable doing thins you can fail. Jaden is 100% fearless. He will do anything. As a parent it’s scary, it’s really terrifying, but he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and he doesn’t concern himself with what people think.”
Will Smith then revealed his real thoughts about the recent Janet Hubert (Aunt Viv on ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel Air) rant aimed at Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. As previously reported Janet Hubert went on a rant in a newly released YouTube video that called out both Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith for basically throwing a tantrum about not getting their way and having Will be nominated for an Oscar for his role in “Concussion.”
Smith takes the high road on Janet Hubert slam
Hubert slams Jada for speaking for her man while Will has been quiet on the matter. “First of all, Miss Thing, does your man not have a mouth of his own with which to speak? The second thing, girlfriend, there’s a lot of s–t going on in the world that you all don’t seem to recognize. People are dying. Our boys are being shot left and right. People are starving. People are trying to pay bills. And you’re talking about some [expletive] actors and Oscars. It just ain’t that deep.”
Smith, who takes the high road on this subject sang words of praise for his former co-star calling her “brilliant.”
“I think as an artist there’s so many things that she does,” Smith said, ramping up for some serious niceties. “She sings, she dances, she’s like a really powerful artist. I loved what she brought to the Fresh Prince.”
However, Smith admits that he and wife Jada are still boycotting the Oscar’s and appeared to not want to discuss the subject much further. On a lighter note Will did admit that he recently ran into pal and “Bad Boys” co-star Martin Lawrence revealing that fans could definitely look forward to a “Bad Boys 3” film in the future.
