Star Wars: The Bad Batch is an animated show that streams on Disney Plus and takes place right after the dreaded order 66. The show follows a group of genetically mutated clones that did not execute the Jedi kill order and are on the run from the evil Galactic Empire. Season one of The Bad Batch was a huge hit and Season 2 was green-lit before the first season even ended.
Season 2 was set to come out in September of this year but with Star Wars: Andor being pushed back many fans were worried about what would happen to The Bad Batch.
Earlier this week a Redditor may have just found out when we can expect the next season of the hit animated show. A fan had contacted the Disney Plus customer service asking if the Bad BAtch would still be coming out this September and to everyone’s surprise the customer service rep answered by saying the Bad Batch Season 2 will air on September 28th of this year! As you can see linked here.
Is this a reliable source?
Fans are still a little skeptical about this information as Disney and Lucasfilm have not made a statement about the situation. If this is legitimate information that would mean the Andor and The Bad Batch would be running at the same time. This would be highly unusual for Disney Plus as they do not normally put two projects from the same universe out at the same time due to rating issues.
If this actually happens it will be the first time since Disney acquired Star Wars that two projects will be put out almost at the same time as Andor is set to premiere on September 21st.
With two shows coming out together there will be more Star Wars content coming than there has been almost all year. Definitely more than this summer as the summer months are typically slow for Star Wars news. It will be very interesting to see when Disney decides to make some kind of statement about this leaked information and tell us if they are actually planning on doing this or not.
More info should be coming
As for now, we will just have to wait and see what happens as those two dates draw closer and closer. Will these two shows air at the same time? Or is this some kind of elaborate prank? Only time will tell as more information should be on the way.
