Son of former NBA player Gilbert Arenas and high school basketball phenom Alijah Arenas has been rushed to the hospital after allegedly crashing his Tesla Cyber Truck. Thursday morning was one that no parent or basketball fan wants to hear about. It is not confirmed what caused the crash. However, Arenas was taken to the closest hospital for emergency treatment. The young man has been placed into a medically induced coma in hopes of a faster and easier recovery.
TMZ reports that the Luxury vehicle was seen on the side of the road in a Los Angeles neighborhood. The Cyber Truck was completely “mangled” by the accident. However, the silver lining, if there is one, seems to be that Alijah Arenas at least has the opportunity to recover. Obviously, this is a horrible situation. Although things could have been even worse than they already are. Emergency response teams allegedly scrambled around 4:55 am. As they arrived at the scene, the teams were instructed to respond to a “trapped patient.” However, when they arrived, all patients had already made it out of the vehicle. Although it has been said that Alijah was taken to the hospital in “serious condition.” The car was allegedly ablaze when first responders arrived at the scene.

Alijah Arenas is a five-star recruit who committed to USC just this year. Just this month, the athlete was also set to meet with Adidas for a sponsorship deal. Through his high school career, Arenas averaged almost 31 points per game with 7 rebounds and 2 assists on top of that. This is a horrible tragedy thrust upon an unsuspecting family. Despite what team or players anyone likes, there is a time when something is bigger than basketball, and this is one of those times. Everyone is hoping for a speedy recovery for this promising young man.
Alijah Arenas and his father, Gilbert Arenas, seem to have a very close relationship, just like most fathers and sons. The young athlete would constantly joke about taking his dad on in a game of one-on-one. It is nothing short of horrible when such a great person and promising talent goes through adversity like this. Sports fans from around the globe have come together in support of Alijah Arenas.
