Amanda Peterson, the star of the 80’s cult classic movie “Can’t Buy Me Love” co-starring Patrick Dempsey, is dead. The actress was sadly found dead in her home on July 5th after her family hadn’t heard from her in two days.

According to TMZ, Amanda Peterson was found dead in her Greenly, Colorado home. The news is shocking, especially since Peterson was only 43-years-old at the time of her death. While the cause of her passing has yet to be announced, Amanda’s father said his daughter did suffer from some things that could have contributed to her death.
Are Amanda’s Illnesses To Blame?
“She had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed.” He also revealed that his daughter had been living in a home with mold in it, but moved out of it about a year ago. Sources also reveal that Amanda has dealt with many illnesses over the past couple of years, including pneumonia, sinusitis, and sleep apnea.
Patrick Dempsey’s Former Co-Star Will Be Missed
Amanda Peterson is best known for her role as Cindy Mancini in the 1987 movie “Can’t Buy Me Love,” where she played a pretty, popular girl who finds herself dating nerdy lawn boy, played by Patrick Dempsey. She also guest starred on “Doogie Hoswer, M.D.” with Neil Patrick Harris, “Listen To Me,” and was last seen in 1994’s “Windrunner,” before retiring from acting the same year.
