Anakin Skywalker Was Almost in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

Anakin Skywalker in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens?” It seriously almost happened, and some fans are bummed that Hayden Christensen’s former character didn’t make the cut for the film. [Spoilers below.]

Anakin Skywalker Almost Returned For ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

According to IGN, a previous concept for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” had Hayden Christensen reprising his role as a young Anakin Skywalker, the character that later becomes Darth Vader, in ghost form.

The report reveals that Anakin Skywalker would have returned as a ghost, likely seen by his grandson, Kylo Ren, the new “Star Wars” villain and son of Leia and Han Solo.

Anakin Skywalker & Kylo Ren’s Conflict

Anakin Skywalker would have looked different in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” if he had been apart of the movie. Reports reveal that the idea was for Anakin to have two faces, representing the two sides of him, the light and the dark, which conflicted him his whole life. It’s what also conflicts Kylo Ren.

As for what lies in store in the next installment of the current “Star Wars” trilogy we don’t know. Perhaps Anakin Skywalker will make an appearance after all. “Star Wars Episode 8” is set to be released in May of 2017.
