Lately “Back 4 Blood” fans have been concerned about how the game’s post-launch downloadable constant also known as DLC for short will affect the gaming community.

In a blog post earlier this week titled “How We’ll Keep The Community Together,” the lead developer outlined his unique approach to whether the customer will choose to spend extra money on the game after paying the starting price for the game.

“Unlike contemporary titles such as ‘Call of Duty’, for example, which require that all players in a lobby purchase and own a map pack in order to experience it, the studio’s spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead is trying something markedly different. If a party leader in any given lobby owns paid content drops while nobody else does, everyone will be eligible to play, essentially making it free,” according to We Got This Covered.

The DLC for Turtle Rock Studios’ ‘Back 4 Blood’ will not just include new maps but new campaigns along with new weapons and even new cards. There will be other new items players can get as well but they have not been disclosed to the public yet and will be at a later time closer to the game’s launch on October 12th of this year.

As for the competitive scene, it seems the plans for a 4v4 swarm PvP mode will remain unaffected by future plans for the game with the initial purchase of the game giving the buyer access to all additional PvP content that is to come no matter the lack of spending.

It will be interesting to see if this will be enough to keep an active fan base for many years to come as if you remember Evolve eventually kicked the bucket as it could not maintain a good amount of active players.

‘Back 4 Blood’ should be a lot different though being the unofficial ‘Left 4 Dead 3’ it will draw most if not all of the ‘Left 4 Dead’ fanbase over and some others who are just looking for a new game to play with their friends.

It should be very interesting to see how well ‘Back 4 Blood’ will do and if it can keep an active player base for many years but all we can do for now is wait until the release on October 12th to see if Turtle Rock Studios has struck gold or not.
