“Big Brother” Season 25 is quickly winding down. However, fans may be in store for even more alliances, lies, and wicked game play. The show’s host, Julie Chen Moonves, recently teased a possible winter season of the show. Here’s what we know.
Julie Chen Moonves hints at winter season of Big Brother
The Hollywood strikes have deeply impacted fall television. The writers’ strike and the SAG-AFTRA strike stopped production on movies and television, leaving fans less than thrilled about their viewing options. However, the strike doesn’t include reality TV, soap operas, or game shows. This is where a winter season of “Big Brother” would be a great option for fans and the CBS network.
Moonves reveals that she thinks it could be a good idea for have a winter season of “Big Brother.” This could include an all-star season with former “BB” legends and fan favorites returning to play the game again. However, another season of “Celebrity Big Brother” could also be in order. Many stars are out of work due to the strike, and it could be interesting to see which celebs would want to compete.
“Now we can book the celebrities. This is something that they can participate in, like with Dancing With the Stars. They’re available now and people want to work,” Chen Moonves told Entertainment Weekly.
Who should join Celebrity Big Brother?
There have been three seasons of “Celebrity Big Brother” thus far. The most recent season aired in 2022 and included stars like Lamar Odom, Shanna Moakler, Chris Kattan, Todrick Hall, Chris Kirkpatrick, Miesha Tate, Carson Kressley, and more.
When it comes to dream casting a new season of “Celebrity Big Brother,” there are a number of stars who would seemingly be a good fit for the show. Scott Disick, Lisa Rinna, Oliva Jade Gianulli, Lance Bass, Spencer Pratt, Tara Reid, Wayne Brady, and others may be a big draw for fans. However, with the strikes, some bigger names could be persuaded to join the cast as well.
Sadly, Julie Chen Moonves isn’t holding her breath for another celebrity season at the moment. “I don’t think a celebrity run will happen,” she says. “But maybe we will have a month’s worth that is special in its own way. Maybe you bring back Legends, for those are the real Big Brother celebrities.”
BB Legends season in the works?
Over the years, “Big Brother” has seen some amazing players work the house as comp beasts and social games. Some of those players could return for another shot at winning the game. “BB” legends like Dan Gheesling, Taylor Hale, and others could opt to return to the “Big Brother” house for another shot.
Fans are now hoping for another season of “Big Brother” to help combat the winter blues. Especially if the strike continues.
