Bill Cosby has been moved into a general population unit where he may mix and mingle among some of the other inmates according to 101 Wins reports.
Bill Cosby, 81, is set to spend the next three-ten years in the Pennsylvania prison after the shamed comic and actor was found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home in 2004.
Cosby was moved late last week following a four-month stay in special housing which gave him the time he needed to acclimate to his new surroundings.
State prison spokeswoman Amy Worden stated that Bill Cosby’s new digs consist of a single cell housed in a two-story unit. Bill has been assigned a few other inmates who will be helping the aging, and legally blind comedian thru his days safely given his advanced age and physical condition and possible deteriorating mental health.
At the Pennsylvania prison, the inmates are permitted several hours within their day to work out in the gym, hit the exorcise yard, visit the library, classroom, and visiting area to aid in passing the time. The cells have their own toilets and sink, and prisoners are permitted to keep tablets or TVs in their cells, should they have the means to purchase the luxury items.
Cosby’s day will begin at 6 a.m. each day and ends at 8:45 p.m. with a headcount. At this time Cosby’s 4-month prison stay has been quite a lonely. USA Today reports reveal that to date neither Bill’s wife nor his children have visited him at all.
Andrew Wyatt Cosby’s spokesman has stated that he does not expect his wife Camille or their daughters to visit despite living in the family estate located only 20 miles from the prison.
“He doesn’t want to have them in that environment,” said Wyatt, who visits regularly. “Why put them in that position, to make it turn into some form of a circus?”
However, rumors have been circulating claiming that Camille Cosby and family made the decision to steer clear of Bill Cosby due to the family humiliation they have suffered following his conviction.
