Another blood moon, another prediction for Armageddon and the end of times. The approaching of the blood moon arrival scheduled for Sunday, September 27 has peaked the interest of astrologers and naysayers across the globe.
Just as fall 2015 is getting started, many are fearing the end of times for the third time this year alone. However, the blood moon event has sparked many blood moon doomsday prophecies have some Christians and preppers predicting some disaster, or “end of days,” scenario to occur on Monday, September 28. Such events always cause an increase in curiosity prompting many prophetic declarations from all corners of the Internet. Is the rare celestial happening, sometimes called a blood moon, a sign that end times are nigh or just another astronomical event?
News posts that Sunday’s total lunar eclipse is the last of a lunar tetrad, a series of four eclipses, occurring six months apart, that began April 15, 2014. Hagee cites a passage from Joel 2:31 in the King James Bible that he claims predicts the end of days with the arrival of a blood moon. “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the Lord comes,” reads the biblical passage.
The Salt Lake City Tribune reports that Mormon author Julie Rowe has made headlines regarding the impending supermoon lunar eclipse. Citing September’s full moon is a sign of an upcoming apocalypse. And it seems some people in Utah believe the same, as they have been purchasing 72-hour emergency kit. One said clue Rowe has also cited as a sign to the end of times is the recent death of 140,000 saigas — a critically endangered species of antelopes. The odd occurrence took place in May and remains unexplained by scientists and conservationists.
Here is what and when to expect during the super blood moon eclipse. The total lunar eclipse will last about one hour and 12 minutes, according to NASA. It will be seen in North and South America, as well as Europe, Africa, parts of West Asia and the Eastern Pacific. Those, skywatchers who are looking for an early peek can camp out early for the partial lunar eclipse, which will begin at eight p.m. ET in the United States.
As the planet’s shadow dims the supermoon, this will create dramatic viewing opportunities for observers. The eclipse will reach its peak during the 10 o’clock hour, giving the supermoon a reddish, copper-like hue. The event should end after midnight.There is no need for special eye gear for the event it is entirely viewable and safe to watch the event with the naked eye. The combined supermoon lunar eclipse happens every 30 years or so. The next supermoon eclipse will occur in 2033. The last time a supermoon eclipse occurred was in 1982, making Sunday’s rare event a sight worth seeing.
As for the doomsday predictions scheduled for September 28, many top notch professionals claim that the sun will set on Sunday night, and rise again on Monday. With that being said, you might want to plan on business as usual. However, for the doomsday believers, it has been claimed by many that if you keep predicting, one day you will probably get it right. It just doesn’t appear to be going down any time in the next few thousand years.
