Bob Barker has died. The “Price is Right” host was 99 years old at the time of his death. Many fans grew up with Barker, as he hosted the iconic game show for several years. Although Barker has been out of the spotlight for several years, he remained a legend of TV.
According to TMZ, Barker died of natural causes at the age of 99. Although his “Price of Right” gig was his most famous, the TV personality also was beloved for his other projects, such as his cameo in the Adam Sandler hit film “Happy Gilmore.”

“We lost a beloved member of the CBS family today with the passing of Bob Barker. During his 35 years as host of THE PRICE IS RIGHT, Bob made countless people’s dreams come true and everyone feel like a winner when they were called to ‘come on down,’” CBS said in a statement shared with Hollywood News Daily. “In addition to his legendary 50-year career in broadcasting, Bob will be remembered as a dedicated animal rights activist. Daytime television has lost one of its most iconic stars.”Fans will remember that he always encouraged fans to control the pet population at the end of each “Price is Right” episode.
The iconic host will be forever missed by fans across the globe. “Wow, I honestly thought he would live forever. RIP Bob Barker, I spent many afternoons with you at my Grandma’s house. They are some of my most cherished memories,” one fan tweeted. “Well he was 99 & we knew it was coming but it still saddens me. I watched him as a kid with my mom both on Truth Or Consequences & TPIR. RIP Bob, thank you for all of the excitement,” another said.
Drew Carey now hosts The Price Is Right
Although actor Drew Carey has replaced Bob Barker on “The Price Is Right,” it was Barker who made the game show what it is today. Fans will never forget watching the host weekdays on daytime television. The game show is still thriving to this day, and it is likely to pay tribute to the late original host at sometime in the future.
Bob Barker is already such an important part of television history. His contributions to the game show culture will never be forgotten.
