The Boston Celtics have been eliminated from the NBA Playoffs. After they had fought their way back into the series after being down three games to none they fell short in Game 7. After another disappointing season for the Celtics, what do they do now? Something has to change. That change might start with Jaylen Brown. Brown has been somewhat at odds with the Celtics for a while now. From being thrown into trade rumors to not feeling appreciated Jaylen Brown refused to rule out leaving the Celtics after their game 7 loss to Miami. As reported by DailyMail.co.uk

The 26-year-old guard was asked about his future with the team after Monday night’s loss. ‘I expected to win tonight and move on,’ he said in regard to that question. He then went on to say that he had failed and the Celtics had failed.  Brown was the Celtics’ leading scorer in Game 7 with 19 points as they lost 103-84.

Will Jaylen Brown Leave?

Jaylen Brown’s comments are very surprising due to the fact he is eligible for a five-year $295 million after making the All-NBA team earlier in May. While these comments might just be a heat-of-the-moment kind of thing, it is definitely something the Celtics should be worried about. Although there is no proof that Brown’s time with the Celtics is up it wouldn’t be a big surprise if he tested free agency.

Where else do the Celtics look for changes? Head Coach Joe Mazzulla? That seems to be a common theme for teams that have underperformed this year. Milwaukee, Philly, Phoenix, and Toronto have all fired their head coaches after being eliminated. Meanwhile, Mazzulla had praised his team for forcing a Game 7 after losing the first three games. ‘It’s one of the best locker rooms I’ve been a part of,” Mazzulla said.

How Will The Celtics Adapt?

The Celtics have fallen short time and time again over the past few years. From losing the NBA Finals to just flat-out not making them. Something needs to happen in Boston or it will just be more of the same. Either a big free agent signing or a big trade needs to get some fresh legs in Boston. How will they handle the offseason? Will they be able to make the necessary changes to get themselves back on track? Only time will tell as fans wait patiently to see what happens next. Will the Celtics ever get back to their former glory?
