Brad Pitt continues to have issues with his children, from his marriage to his ex-wife Angelina Jolie. Some of the children are not over their parents’ divorce and have reportedly made it a point to remind their father. The former power couple were married from 2014 to 2019.
Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie’s Family Life Takes A Hit
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt first met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004. They were immediately smitten with each other. Throughout their relationship, the couple built a family life together.
Pitt eventually adopted Jolie’s kids, Zahara and Maddox, in 2006 before welcoming daughter Shiloh the same year. The couple also share adopted children Pax, Vivienne, and Knox. All of their kids accompanied Jolie and Pitt to their dreamy French wedding in 2014. Two years later, the beloved couple split.
Angelina and Brad Pitt added to their family throughout their time together and shared six children: sons Maddox and Pax, daughters Zahara and Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
Shortly after their second wedding anniversary, Jolie filed from Pitt on Sept. 20, 2016. She cited irreconcilable differences and requested physical custody of their six children and visitation for Pitt. Jolie did not request child or spousal support. Following their split, the couple engaged in a lengthy and nasty custody case before finalizing their divorce in 2019.
Brad Pitt’s Children Remain Bitter?
The celebrity couple were officially divorced in 2019. However, the fallout from their bitter split has reportedly severely affected Brad’s relationship with his six children. Especially his son Pax. According to the Daily Mail in 2020, Pax Jolie-Pitt allegedly took to Instagram to blast his dad on Father’s Day.
Pax Jolie-Pitt allegedly described his dad, Brad Pitt, as a “world-class a–hole” in an Instagram post. He then used his social media platform to go after his father and discuss the alleged abuse that Angelina and two of the Jolie-Pitt children reportedly endured.
“Happy Father’s Day to this world-class a–hole!! You time and time again, prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person,” began the message.
“You have no consideration or empathy toward your 4 youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence,” Pax, now 19, reportedly continued, referring to Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15 (Pax’s older brother, Maddox, is 22.
But Pax is not the only one of Brad Pitt’s children who seemingly resent their father. According to Page Six, Brad’s daughter Zahara also took a public swipe at her father last week.
During her sorority induction, Zahara introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie,” purposely leaving her father Brad’s last name off. Zahara’s Alpha Kappa Alpha ceremony took place at Spelman College in front of many attendees, including her mother, Angelina Jolie, and brothers Pax and Maddox.
What is Brad’s Current Relationship Status With His Children?
Things for Brad Pitt and his children have not been great. The “Thelma and Louise” star was briefly granted joint custody of the children in 2021. However, per Hello magazine, the agreement reverted back to Angelina having full custody of them, while Brad has ‘custodial time’ with the younger children.
Brad Pitt’s children have been through a lot, and it has been a difficult and painful time for all involved. However, the actor continues to speak positively about his children and his role as their father.
“I care about [my children] more than I care about myself, which I think is the real definition of love. You see past yourself, become more generous and giving, and want only the best for your family.”
