With The NFL starting in just a few days we look at one of the more interesting matchups with Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers hosting Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns. This week one matchup has been circled on both teams’ calendars as Baker Mayfield looks to get his “revenge” on the Browns for kicking him to the curb.

For the Browns, Myles Garrett said a few weeks ago that there was no rivalry Between the two teams but after Mayfield had some choice words for a sideline reporter after a pre-season win Garrett and the rest of the team might have changed their minds.

The Cleveland Browns have the best running back duo in the NFL with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. The run game can be tricky in today’s NFL as teams can score so fast and it takes time to set up a good running game. If the Brown’s Defense can hold the Panthers early and often the Browns should be able to establish control for the ground game.

Hard-fought week one game?

Do not expect anything too flashy on Sunday as there is sure to be some hard-nosed defense and some tough runs but a win is a win for Cleveland in this week one matchup.

We also have to look at the drama around this game. Baker Mayfield might have just poked the bear a little and in this case, the bear is Myles Garrett who broke the Browns’ all-time record for most sacks in one season last year.

We don’t think that is a bear anyone wants to poke especially if you have a weak offensive line like the Panthers do. If guys like Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney are constantly putting pressure or getting to Baker that could be enough to call the game right there.

Will the Browns’ defense stay strong?

The Cleveland Browns’ defense has carried the team for the last few years, especially in their playoff win against the Pittsburgh Steelers a few seasons back. With the number of interceptions, we all know Baker can rack up in one game. It seems like this Browns’ defense could be the best way to beat the Panthers.

As we all continue to count the days until NFL football is back the drama and hype just continue to grow for this week one matchup. Will Baker have a great game? Or will he fall short and lead the Panthers to a week one loss? Only time will tell as NFL Football is back this week and it is sure to be a good one.
