Bruce Springsteen Comes To Terms With Mortality Days After Turning 75, ‘I Am Deeply Sorry’

Legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen recently shared a heartfelt message to his longtime fans just days after his 75th birthday. The Born In the USA hitmaker reveals he has been thinking about his mortality and has made a big life decision.

Bruce Springsteen was recently hit with some serious medical issues that left the singer wondering if he would ever sing again. Last year he was left crippled by a severe illness that forced him to cancel several shows on his current World Tour With the E Street Band.

Not only was Dancing In the Dark singer very ill with a serious peptic ulcer issue, but several members of his band were also recently stricken with Covid, according to Radar Online. Band members Steven Van Zandt, Nils Lofgren, Jake Clemons, Soozie Tyrell, and Lisa Lowell were all missing shows. Things got so bad for Bruce and the band that it left the singer wondering whether or not they would be able to continue on with the tour.

During a radio appearance in October, Bruce apologized for letting his fans down. “Let me take a moment and thank my fans affected by our postponed shows for their understanding. I am deeply sorry, but this belly thing. Despite my ability to laugh at it. Has been a monster and is still, unfortunately, rocking my internal world.”

Between Bruce Springsteen’s severe battle with a peptic ulcer and Covic running rampant throughout the band, things were beginning to look pretty grim.

As an aging rocker, Springsteen admits he has spent many years working hard to stay fit and healthy. Since I was 16, playing live has been a deep and lasting part of who I am and how I justify my existence here on Earth. I plan on continuing until the wheels fall off and for as long as the audience will follow me. That’s my job.”

Bruce admits that life has seemingly kicked him and the band in the teeth lately. It has been a lot to deal with. Bruce and the band also received another piece of bad news over the summer. In August, it was revealed that Bruce’s wife and band member Patti Scialfa, 71, was diagnosed with blood cancer.

Despite all the hardships, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Members have made a promise to their fans. As far as they are concerned, they have no plans to slow down on their four-hour concert performances. “We’ve been around 50 f—— years, and we ain’t quitting! We ain’t doing no farewell tour bulls—! Jesus Christ! No farewell tour for the E Street Band! I ain’t going anywhere.”
