On Wednesday, Game 4 of the 2021 NBA Finals will be played with the Phoenix Suns leading the series over the Milwaukee Bucks two games to one. The series stays in Milwaukee for now after the Bucks took Game 3 and look to even the series at two games apiece with a victory in Game 4.
The 2021 NBA Finals have gone pretty much as expected thus far. However, what wasn’t expected was the struggles the Suns endured in Game 3. Starting with foul trouble for Deandre Ayton, Phoenix missed their first 12 three-point attempts. In addition, Devin Booker only scored 10 points.
On the other side of things, Milwaukee played great basketball in Game 3. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 41 points and had 13 rebounds. The superstar also joined some elite company of players who have had 40 plus points and 10 plus rebounds in the NBA Finals.
Looking ahead to tonight’s game Milwaukee must stay as active on the defensive end of things as they were in Game 3 if they hope to tie the series. The Suns on the other hand need to be aggressive and stay aggressive to keep the pace of the game fast.
Can the Bucks recreate their Game 3 magic?
Milwaukee did most of their scoring in Game 3 and it was when Ayton was not on the court. The star big man was in foul trouble early in the game leaving Phoenix without a rim protector. Seeing their opportunity the Bucks attacked the rim over and over getting anything they wanted down there.
Somewhere along the way Jrue Holiday found his stroke from outside and was absolutely cashing shots from behind the arc. These two things are what Milwaukee will need to recreate in Game 4 if they hope to win two in a row and tie the series.
According to CBS Sports, “we’re probably inching toward the closest game we’ve seen in this series.” Game 4 is set to tip-off at 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time and is sure to be a must-watch game as the winner of that game will have all the momentum going into Game 5.
