Burt Reynolds Dead At 82: ‘Smokey And The Bandit’ Star Dies In Florida

Burt Reynolds has died. The iconic actor passed away in a hospital in Florida on Thursday, with his family next to him.

According to a report by Us Weekly Magazine, Burt Reynolds became a household name in the 1970s with is breakout role in the film, Deliverance. The actor has hundreds of film and TV credits to his name, including Smokey and the Bandit, The Longest Yard, Boogie Nights, and many, many more.

Reynolds was still acting at the time of his death, with his film, Defining Moments set to be released in theaters in December 2018. He was also filming Once Upon a time in Hollywood with Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio, which will be released in 2019.

Burt Reynolds has been married twice. He wed Judy Carne in 1963. The two divorced just two years later. In 1988 he walked down the aisle with actress Loni Anderson. The couple split in 1993. However, it was his former girlfriend and co-star, Sally Field, that he revealed to be the love of his life.

“I miss her terribly. Even now, it’s hard on me. I don’t know why I was so stupid. Men are like that, you know. You find the perfect person, and then you do everything you can to screw it up,” Reynolds said of Field at the time.

Burt Reynolds is already being mourned by Hollywood’s elite and his fans, who have taken to social media to send their thoughts and prayers to the actor’s family and friends. Burt is survived by his only son, Quentin Anderson Reynolds.
