Burt Young is dead. The actor who is best known for his role as Paulie in the “Rocky” franchise passed away this week. Of course, fans and Young’s fellow actors were devastated by the loss of the talent.

Burt Young’s memorable role as Paulie in the “Rocky” films stuck with fans. However, the role was seemingly meant for the actor. Young knocked it out of the park and even got nominated for an Oscar for the role. “Movie critic Roger Ebert also praised Young for his performance in the now-iconic boxing film, per Variety.
“Burt Young as (Adrian’s) brother — defeated and resentful, loyal and bitter, caring about people enough to hurt them just to draw attention to his grief,” Ebert wrote for The New York Times at the time. “Burt Young is effective as Rocky’s best friend, a beer-guzzling mug.”
The character of Paulie stood by Rocky’s side through thick and thin throughout the original movie franchise. Meanwhile, he also returned for 2006’s revival of the franchise titled “Rocky Balboa.” However, Paulie was absent for the franchise’s reboot, “Creed.” The news of Young’s death has hit Hollywood hard. Sylvester Stallone reacts to Burt Young’s death
Sylvester Stallone starred in several “Rocky” films alongside Burt Young. Of course, the iconic actor was saddened to hear about the actor’s passing. Of course, Stallone, who played the titular character in the films, took to social media to share his love for his late co-star. “To my Dear Friend, BURT YOUNG, you were an incredible man’s and artist,” Stallone wrote via Instagram. “I and the World will miss you very much…RIP,” Stallone continued, adding a photo of the pair together on the set of the film.
In addition to Stallone, fans also took to social media to share their grief over the actor’s death. “RIP Pauly! An amazing actor. You will be missed Burt!” one person wrote on Instagram. “This is such sad news. I had the great honor of meeting him briefly here in Philly, he was the kindest man. Rest in peace, Burt. My kids and I will always cherish the joy you brought to our lives,” another fan commented. “I will always remember Burt with the character of Paulie and his famous phrase: Rocko if I could be anyone in life, I would like to be you,” a third person added.
Burt Young will be missed by family, friends, and fans alike. However, his legacy will live on through his iconic work.
