During Caris LeVert’s first day of practice with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he got to reconnect with his former teammate from his days in Brooklyn, Jarrett Allen. LeVert and Allen immediately started working on pick-and-roll scenarios where LeVert would through a lob to Allen just like the good old days and now these days. Caris LeVert also spoke to the media about how excited he is about his new role on a very different team than the one he came from in Indiana. “Here,” he said. “We’re playing for a championship.”

According to ESPN, It seems that LeVert is very happy about being back in his home state and playing more meaningful basketball.

This was a big move for the Cavaliers and they are already talking to LeVert about a long-term contract extension. Charis LeVert is a great pickup for this Cavaliers team and everyone in the organization is happy he is here. “It makes us more dynamic,” coach J.B. Bickerstaff said of LeVert’s arrival. “It makes us a really dangerous basketball team.” reported by ESPN.com. Caris LeVert is averaging 18 points per game and 4 assists per game. Just last week scored 42 points against an amazing Chicago Bulls team. 28 of those 42 points came in the first half.

Caris LeVert is ready to help the Cavs win

Caris LeVert gives the Cavaliers another scoring option on the wing as well as a nice outside shot for their All-star point guard to pass to. The one-two punch of LeVert and Garland in the backcourt could rival the frontcourt duo of Allen and Mobley. LeVert really rounds out this Cavalier offense and makes them a very versatile and dangerous team. At six foot seven Caris LeVert is a big matchup problem for a defense.

“It’s the silkiness of his game and how he can manage to get by his guy,” said coach JB Bickerstaff, who is weighing whether to start LeVert or bring him off the bench Wednesday against San Antonio. “And it’s like at an offbeat rhythm, so guys that are defending him don’t know when he’s going to go when he’s going to stop. He’s a tough-shot maker, so it’s really difficult to game plan for a guy like that.,” per ESPN.

LeVert also goes on to say that there is a lot of love in Cleveland. The vibes that this young Cavaliers team puts off are something that he wants to be a part of as this team can do something very special. It will be very interesting to see how well Caris LeVert plays in his debut game tonight in Cleveland as they take on the Spurs at 7:00 pm.
