Cavaliers’ Forward Isaac Okoro Has Been Working Harder On His Offensive Game

Isaac Okoro

With The Cleveland Cavaliers trading Collin Sexton and Lauri Markkanen for the Utah Jazz’s three-time all-star, Donovan Mitchell the Cavs starting lineup is all but set with one spot up for grabs. There are a few players that could fill that slot such as Cris LeVert who the Cavaliers traded for at the deadline last season and who showed flashes of greatness. Another candidate is another young player in Isaac Okoro.

Isaac Okoro has always been a great defender for the Cavaliers and always takes on the challenges of guarding the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and James Harden whenever the Cavs need him to. The aspect of his game that worries the Cavaliers is the lack of offensive ability.

Okoro has struggled with scoring ever since he entered the NBA but it is now being reported that Isaac Okoro has been working harder than ever this offseason to get himself and his offensive game to the level the Cavaliers need it to be at.

Okoro knows he needs to work harder

“Thankfully, Okoro acknowledged during his exit interviews with the media that he and the Cavaliers both agreed that he needed to improve in all facets of offense, shooting included,” Evan Dammarell wrote. “Sources share with Right Down Euclid that Okoro has been working tirelessly at Auburn during the offseason on his offensive game, trying to find consistency beyond the arc prior to the start of training camp. Granted, the difference between individual workouts and actual five-on-five action that Okoro’s shooting will face is vast. But, it’s a hopeful sign of things to come this upcoming season.” according to Cavaliers Nation.com

Isaac Okoro has been a starter since he joined the Cavaliers as their lottery pick back in 2020 and if he can improve his scoring numbers there is no reason that he should not continue to be a starter.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are a team that everyone is keeping an eye on with players like Mitchell and Garland in the backcourt. The Cavs can be a dangerous matchup for any team in the NBA.

Playoffs bound?

How far will the Cavaliers go this season? Will they finally make the playoffs without LeBron James? Will they make the Finals or the Eastern Conference Finals?

The sky’s the limit for this young Cavaliers team as the season draws closer the excitement continues to grow for Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball. Only time will tell how far this Cavs team will go and the City of Cleveland can not wait to cheer them on as they defend The Land.
