With the Cleveland Cavaliers having their best season so far in the post-LeBron James era, super-star guard Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland’s newest all-star caliber player) is having his best season yet and seems to be in very high spirits.

Mitchell has been a Cavalier for about three months now, but that does not mean the Utah Jazz players and fans are over their “Breakup”. Jazz fans were up in arms on Twitter after their former franchise player stated this in a recent interview. “This is not a shot at my guys in Utah. But I’m having fun again,” said Mitchell according to Si.com

Fans felt like Donovan Mitchell was indeed taking a shot at his time in Utah as the team failed to perform in the playoffs multiple times. Unlike the Rudy Gobert trade, the Utah Jazz are not as happy with the return they got for Mitchell as Lauri and Collin have both cooled off from their hot starts to the season while Mitchell is averaging a career-high 28 points per game. Spida is thriving in The Land and many close to him are saying this is the happiest they have ever seen him.

The Cavs Are Serious

The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently locking down the third-seed spot in the Eastern Conference after a tough loss to the New York Knicks who spoiled Mitchell’s homecoming with a final score of 92-81. The Cavaliers despite the loss are still in great shape with the return of all-star center Jarrett Allen hopefully in the near future.

On the bright side, Allen’s injury has allowed the Cavs’ second-year player Evan Mobley to take some big steps forward and grow as the main big man. Mobley has looked great without his frontcourt partner there to back him up but the Cavaliers’ defense as a whole is struggling without Jarrett Allen in that starting line-up.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are in a great spot for it being so early in the season they are in striking distance of both the first and second-seed teams as well as being a few games up on the fourth-seed Atlanta Hawks.

Championship Mentality

Donavan Mitchell is leading this team to where they are supposed to be and that is a contending team in the Eastern Conference as this organization and the fans are ready to be playing for championships once again. Mitchell has stated that a championship is the end goal for this young team and that they will do whatever it takes to bring the city and the franchise another banner.
