Collin Sexton may be headed for greatness. Well, known basketball trainer, Stanley Remy had nothing but good things to say about the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ leading scorer. It certainly seems that the young guard has put in a lot of work this offseason and would love to take his game to the next level in the 2021-22 campaign.
According to Cavaliers Nation Remy made a post via his Instagram @remyworkouts that said “Amazing week of work brother! Your energy brings life to the gym. We made it happen.” Fans are expecting a very big season from Sexton and he knows that his play this year will determine how much the Cavs will offer him in his possible contract extension.
Collin Sexton is one of the best young scores in the NBA, his averages have only gone up every year so far as in the 2020-21 season he averaged 24 points per game, shot 47 percent from the field, and shot 37 percent from behind the arc. The former first-round pick also averaged 3 rebounds per game and 4 assists per game last year which was a huge improvement from his rookie year.
Can Collin Sexton help push the Cavs towards a winning season?
Collin Sexton is the head of a very exciting Cavs young core and even though his name was thrown around in trade rumors for a few months it looks like the Cavaliers are not opposed to signing him to a long-term deal.
The 22-year old still has time to grow as a player as he is not even in his prime yet. One of the benefits of entering the NBA at such a young age is that players have so much time to get adjusted and become elite players in the future. The sky is the limit for Collin Sexton and the Cavs have a very bright future in this league, if they play their cards right they could even make the playoffs this year.
We will have to wait until the NBA season tips off next month to see how much Collin Sexton and the rest of the Cavaliers have grown as a team and as players. But for now, we can hope for the best as everyone who has been a part of Sexton’s offseason workouts has been very impressed with his work ethic and his ability to just keep improving. It is a very exciting time to be a Cavs fan as they have a lot of players with very bright futures and in a few years, the Cavaliers could again be one of the top teams in the NBA.
