Chris Pratt and Anna Faris have officially split. The couple, who have been married for eight years, announced their sad separation on Sunday night, and fans almost couldn’t believe the shocking and tragic news.
According to People Magazine, Chris Pratt made the announcement on Sunday night via his official Facebook page. The Jurassic World actor released a short, but loving statement about splitting with Anna Faris and how they would go forward in their lives post-split.
“Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”
Chris Pratt and Anna Faris have been known as one of the cutest and sweetest couples in Hollywood for years. The couple wed back in July of 2009, and were together for the good and bad times in each other’s careers. Recently, Pratt went through a body transformation, losing weight and buffing up for roles in huge blockbusters such as Jurassic World and Guardians Of The Galaxy. The pair share one son together, Jack, and have been a fan favorite couple to follow on Twitter due to their funny and sweet tweets about and to one another.
However, it seems that navigating life as a Hollywood power couple may have been hard for the pair. Just three weeks before announcing their split, Anna Faris revealed the struggle of being in the public eye. The Mom star called the transition “tricky” and claimed it’s not something that anyone can prepare for.
“I don’t think that’s something, when you’re an actor, that you’re prepared for. There are two different roles that you play — the one on-camera and the one in public. That’s the tricky part.”
