Christopher Briney Stuns With The Summer I Turned Pretty Comments: ‘It’s Stupid’

The Summer I Turned Pretty Conrad

The Summer I Turned Pretty is one of the biggest shows of the past few years. The series features an epic love triangle between Belly Conklin and the sons of her mother’s best friend. During the first two seasons of the show, Belly is forced to confront her feelings for both Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher. The Jenny Han book adaptation was recently renewed for Season 3, which will likely be the last. Meanwhile, actor Christopher Briney, who plays Conrad, had some interesting comments about the popular Amazon Prime series.

Christopher Briney calls The Summer I Turned Pretty storyline stupid

When asked about Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty, Briney made some unexpected remarks about his character and the overall storyline of the show. “It’s all unreal expectations. It’s all ridiculous,” the actor revealed of the show’s premise and the events surrounding Conrad Fisher, per Us Weekly.

“You’re not going to go to Stanford,” he admitted. “You’re not going to go to a beach town every summer and fall in love with your mom’s friend’s f—king whatever. It’s not going to happen. It’s stupid. That’s not how life works.”

While Christopher Briney may not be a fan of over-the-top romantic teen dramas, he still says that he loves a good rom-com. “They really don’t [make them like they used to]. It was different,” he admitted of older romance movies.

Some fans were surprised by Briney’s comments

Of course, The Summer I Turned Pretty isn’t exactly super-realistic. However, some fans were shocked by Briney’s comments about the show that made put him on the map. The series is a huge success among viewers, who spent the last two years obsessing over Belly’s love triangle with Conrad and Jeremiah.

Christopher Briney may have been joking about it all. However, it was a bit disheartening to some to hear him tear into the storyline of the show and novels.
