Cleveland Browns: Cleveland’s Rookie QB Has a New Outlook for His Second NFL Start

Cleveland Browns' Rookie DTR

The Cleveland Browns are at a crossroads. They have lost starting quarterback Deshaun Watson for the remainder of the season, and now they have to weigh their options. In the wake of their QB1 going down with a shoulder injury that requires surgery, Cleveland has decided that their rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson will get the start for week 11.

Cleveland Needs To Keep Fighting

Another divisional game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and another chance for the Browns to show how tough they really are. Hollywood News Daily is here to take a deeper dive into DTR’s “new outlook” going into his second NFL start. Cleveland’s rookie stated that this upcoming start will be “day and night” from his first start a few months ago, according to ESPN.com. “I know what to expect now,” he said Thursday. “I’m not stepping out there for the first time — not going out there wide-eyed anymore.”

DTR started when The Cleveland Browns first met the Baltimore Ravens in October. Watson was dealing with a different shoulder injury. However,  DTR did not know he was starting until after Watson’s pre-game warmups determined that QB1 was not good to go. Thompson-Robinson went on to throw three picks and get sacked four times in Cleveland’s 28-3 loss. Dorian said that he feels like he is ready for the Steelers as he had learned a lot from that first start.

“I know what it takes now to be an NFL quarterback, not just a college quarterback,” he said. “I think I’ve taken that next step.”

DTR IS The Next Man Up!

Cleveland took DTR with a fifth-round pick out of UCLA, where the young man was a five-year starter.  DTR impressed in the pre-season where he earned the role of QB2 behind Deshaun Watson. After his loss to the Ravens, Cleveland elevated PJ Walker to starting QB where he would go on to win two straight games. Unfortunately, Walker would throw an interception at a crucial moment against the Seattle Seahawks.

Now, the Cleveland Browns are giving Dorian Thompson-Robinson another shot. Brown’s head coach Kevin Stefanski stated that DTR was put in a tough spot against one of the best teams in Football. He would also go on to say that DTR having a full week to prepare will be a big factor. This is a must-win game for the Cleveland Browns. DTR says he is up to the challenge, so we will have to see how he backs those words up at home against the Steelers.
