Cleveland Browns: Deshaun Watson Throws Three TDs In The Win Over Washington

Cleveland Browns Quarterback Deshaun Watson

The Cleveland Browns are out of playoff contention but that didn’t stop starting quarterback Deshaun Watson from throwing three TDs in a win over Washington. While Deshaun Watson had a rough first half against the Commanders there were some bright spots for CLE.

Although Watson was sacked four times in the first half, The Browns walked away with the win. It was about as perfect out as you could ask for in January for a football game. Just like the year changed, so did the Browns after halftime.

Watson Looked good!

Deshaun Watson came out of the locker room firing after the half. The Cleveland Browns are at that time where they can not really blame Watson’s play for him being rusty anymore. Watson has had plenty of time now to shake off that rust and he might have done just that, According to Cleveland.com. Watson looked much more comfortable in the second half. First off, he slowed down a little. Second, he remembered he has Amari Cooper. Watson hit Cooper multiple times and two of those were for a TD.

Fans love seeing a connection being formed between Cooper and Watson as they are two very crucial pieces to the Brown’s offense. Watson also hit Donovan Peoples-Jones for an 11-yard Td pass. The man who had only two touchdown passes in his first 14 quarters just threw three in his last two. Although this game did not really mean much in the grand scheme of things. It was an important game for Watson and his confidence.

Will the Cleveland Browns season end in a win?

The Browns will end their season in Pittsburgh on Sunday as they take on the Steelers. Pittsburgh is still barely in the playoff hunt and it would be nice for Watson and the Browns to crush the Steelers’ playoff hopes with a big win to end the season. This will be a big game for Watson as he has not gotten to experience the rivalry between these two organizations yet. Watson and the Browns will have to bring the energy

Things seem to be looking up for the Watson era in Cleveland. The new QB1 seems to be getting his rhythm back and we are all looking forward to seeing a whole season with him leading the way in 2023. But for right now, we will all have to wait and see what happens next year as the Browns will hopefully end the season with a win over their long-time rival.
