With The Cleveland Browns’ second preseason game on Friday, QB1 Deshaun Watson will be suiting up! When Watson made his debut for the Browns last season, it was rough. That was to be expected. Watson looked like a player who had not taken a regular season snap in over 700 days. A lot has changed since then though. Watson has had a whole offseason of workouts and training camp to get back to his former self.
The Browns Are Ready!
With an upgraded receiver core and a modernized defense, Deshaun Watson is looking to prove to the fans he is their best bet. Watson will show a little sneak preview of what is hopefully a playoff campaign for the Cleveland Browns. Head Coach Kevin Stefanski said he will play most of his starters and that Watson will play as little as possible.
“We kind of have a number of plays in mind, but I want to see how those drives go,” Stefanski said. “Similarly, defensively. I mean if you get two three-and-outs, you’re going to be tempted to pull everybody. So it’s really just dependent on if you’re getting what you want accomplished.” According to Cleveland.com.
While we will see plenty of different QBs in action Friday night, such as Dobbs, Thompson-Robinson, and Mond. Stefanski was hesitant to name any big-name starters. Players like Nick Chubb or Myles Garrett. “If they are available, they’ll be in uniform,” said Stafanski. Watson is even unsure about how much he will play against the Commanders. Washington also has former Browns QB Jacoby Brissett listed as number 2 on their depth chart.
“I’m not even sure (how much I’ll play),” Watson said before Day 12 of training camp on Wednesday. “I just know I’m starting it off and we’ll see how … the biggest thing really is just getting operational in the field for pre-game and starting off the game and just kind of get myself back in routine to get ready for the season.”
Football Is Back IN The Land!
It will be nice for The Cleveland Browns to have their $230 million man back out on the field, even if it is for a short time. Cleveland looks to move to 2-0 in preseason as Watson is ready to play some football! It will be interesting to see what other players Cleveland puts on the field as there is plenty of young talent fighting for a roster spot. Kickoff is at 7:30 ETS for Cleveland Browns football!
