The Cleveland Cavaliers steal another big comeback win as the young Cavs shine at home. Last night the Cavaliers took on the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pels were on their final game of a big road trip and the Cavaliers just got done with a west coast trip. Cleveland has been playing great basketball at home all season. Last night was rough for the Cavaliers through two quarters. With the Cleveland Cavaliers down 50-47 going into the half, things would have to change if they were to win this game.

The Cleveland Cavaliers came out of the half firing as they rallied to take a three-point lead into the fourth quarter. From then on Darius Garland, Even Mobley, and Jarrett Allen took over. With Mitchell leaving the game with a groin injury it was up to the other young Cavaliers to get to work. Garland, who put on a show finished with 30 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds. This was a big turnaround for him since he had a very rough first half.

Big Games By The Frontcourt

Evan Mobley finished with 19 points and 8 rebounds. While Jarrett Allen had 24 points, 5 assists, and 11 rebounds. Isaac Okoro who has been in the starting line-up lately has also been playing solid basketball and hitting some timely three-point shots.

“That’s just our mindset really. We have done it before,” All-Star point guard Darius Garland said of Cleveland’s won’t-give-in reputation. “We know we can do it — even though we don’t like putting ourselves in that position. We just know we have a lot of fighters on this team. We know we can come back in any game, we can be in any game at any time and we can win at any time. That’s what we did tonight.” according to Cleveland.com.

The Cleveland Cavaliers needed this win after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves. That loss caused Cleveland to drop to the fifth seed in the eastern conference. The Cavaliers are heading the wrong way in the east as they started the season as the third seed.

The Cavs Need More Consistent Play

The Cavs need to start playing more consistent ball if they want to move back up the Eastern Conference ladder. It is still a tight race but the frontrunners are starting to pull away. If the Cleveland Cavaliers don’t want to be left behind they need to step it up, and soon. The Golden State Warriors come to town Friday night to face Cleveland as they look to make it two wins in a row.
