Evan Mobley

Cleveland Cavaliers: CLE Has A New Young FA Target

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been one of the busiest teams so far this off-season. Cleveland has made four moves to acquire new players as of right now, but they may not be done yet! Cleveland has addressed their major problems with these new players. Three-point shooting was rough for Cleveland last season. Players like Max Strus and Georges Niang should be able to help with that. What other moves could Cleveland make to really round out their roster?

What Does Cleveland Need?

The Cleveland Cavaliers could use some athleticism in the front court, maybe even some rim protection they could rotate in to give Mobley and Allen more rest throughout the season. There are a few players that Cleveland could try to land but one stands out above the rest. For the first time in his young career, Bol Bol is a free agent.

Bol Bol is the son of long-time NBA player Manute Bol, and he got his father’s length. Standing 7’2 he is slightly shorter than his father as he stood 7’7 while he was in the league. According to KingJamesGospel.com, what the younger Bol brings is a set of skills more like a guard than a 7’2 big man. He can handle the ball, make plays for others, as well as pull up for a jumper. He played forward for the Magic last season but is still capable of playing center if need be.

Bol was released by the Magic and is searching for a new home. One of the final pieces that the Cleveland Cavaliers need is a solid backup center. In Bol’s limited minutes, he averaged 15 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, and nearly a three-pointer a game. The 23-year-old has the opportunity to be the kind of player who spaces the floor and provides weakside rim protection for a team.

Bol Bol To CLE!

A player that could do just as much damage as Evan Mobley as a role player would be amazing for the Cavs. Being able to give their big men a rest and not have to worry about their defense falling apart is something that could really help this team. Cleveland’s defense starts with their frontcourt. Being able to bolster what is already one of the best frontcourts in the league should be their next priority.

Cleveland could be the perfect place for Bol Bol to find his game in a comfortable role behind two sound big men. It will be very interesting to see if Cleveland tries to make a move on Bol Bol as the market may be hot for him. For now, we will have to wait and see what happens!
