The Cleveland Cavaliers' Darius Garland

Cleveland Cavaliers: Darius Garland’s Turnover Free Game Leads the Cavs to a Big Win

The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a huge win against one of the Eastern Conference’s best teams. The Orlando Magic are currently 14-7 and sit in third place in the east. With a top-three-rated defense, the Magic are not to be taken lightly, and the Cavs knew that. With some fantastic play from their frontcourt after their bigs got into foul trouble Cleveland made a statement as they walked out with the win. Hollywood News Daily will be taking a deeper dive into this Cavaliers win.

Cleveland’s Big Win

For starters, Donovan Mitchell did All-NBA team things. Spida finished with 35 points and added 6 assists. When Mitchell can score that much against a top defense, good things will happen for Cleveland. The overlooked feat would be Darius Garland’s play at point guard.

Darius Garland had 26 points with 9 assists, but he did it with zero turnovers! When Garland does not turn the ball over the Cleveland Cavaliers have yet another all-star option. Turnovers have been an issue for this team all season, and it is refreshing to see a clean game against a good team. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff talks about Garland after the game, saying he knows the turnover issue won’t last.

Coach Speaks On Garland

“I give Darius a little bit of leeway because I know who he is,” Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “He’s an extremely efficient basketball player. So we know those turnovers weren’t gonna last. We know the impact that he can have on a game and how he can orchestrate a game [and] make his teammates better, and that’s what this is about. His job is to not only take care of himself, but his job is to make this team go, and he did a great job of that tonight.” according to Cleveland.com.

This is the first game this season that Garland has left the turnover column empty. Cavalier forward, Max Strus, said that this is the DG that Cleveland needs. Keeping up the pace and getting everyone involved. Max also knows that Garland can create for himself as well, and if he mixes that with his passing the league is in trouble.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are now 12-9, but they have won 8 out of their last 11 games. A slow start with many injuries killed Cleveland early, but it seems that now, they are getting it back together. As they continue to pick up the pieces it is important to take wins like this and build off of them. Cleveland Takes on the Miami Heat on Friday as they look to push their win streak to three games.
