The Cleveland Cavaliers’ core will more than likely look the same going into the 2023-24 NBA season. Clevelands’ President of basketball operations, Koby Altman has stated that he plans to keep the core four of Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley together. This team made their first playoff appearance together last season, even though it did not go as planned. The Knicks came in and ended their season earlier than expected

Jarrett Allen Is Here To Stay

“I intend that to be the case. I never make promises in case something were to miraculously happen, but all four know how important they are to this, and no conversations have happened. Outside of teams calling doing their job, no conversations have happened substantial that we envision breaking up this core. It’s a core that won 51 games last year and really has a lot more runway left. I think we’re going to continue to get better.” as reported by BleacherReport.com.

Cleveland did in fact field offers for Jarrett Allen, but none of them were even close to being good enough to send him off. Keeping Allen for at least one more year makes sense. He helped this team get to the playoffs for the first time in the post-LeBron James era. He played rough in the playoffs but so did everyone else. This team is still young. Their window has just opened. If the Cleveland Cavaliers can take that tough loss and use it to drive them, look out because they will be dangerous.

We also have to remember that was this team’s first run together. Mitchell just got there via a trade from the Utah Jazz. The Cavs have to make this a learning experience and come back stronger. It was okay to be worried after a five-game first-round exit. Now, the clarity starts to kick in. Cleveland has so much time to do great things still. They have their core locked in for a few years still and a great vibe in the locker room.

Cleveland Needs To Take That Leap!

The Cleveland Cavaliers are a good team. They need to grow together and become a great team this season. The offseason additions to the roster should help fill Cleveland’s line-up and give them that boost they were lacking. It will be very interesting to see what the Cleveland Cavaliers can do this upcoming season. They need to take a big step forward. It is the Eastern Conference Finals or bust for this Cavaliers team.
