Cleveland Cavaliers Part Ways With Damyean Dotson

The Cleveland Cavaliers have had a lot of players come and go throughout their rebuilding process, and one of those players was Damyean Dotson. Dotson in his short time with the Cavaliers played the role of backup point guard and two guard behind Darius Garland and Collin Sexton

Dotson signed a two-year, $4 million deal before the 20-21 season with Year 2 as a non-guarantee. Dotson averaged 6.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 19.7 minutes over 46 games last season with the Cavaliers,” reports RealGM.

Dotson had some good moments with the Cavaliers, making some pretty big three point shots from time to time. But in the end he just was not a good fit as the Cavaliers decided to sign Denzel Valentine

The Cavs are looking to get back in the playoffs in the next few years starting with this upcoming NBA season. The Cavaliers could possibly make the playoffs as a seventh or eighth seed this year, but it would be a challenge as they have a lot of young inexperienced players as well as injuries that are a problem for any team in the league. It will be very interesting to see how well the Cleveland Cavaliers can fare if all their players can stay healthy.

Cavaliers make another roster move

The signing of Denzel Valentine is a low risk moderate reward for the Cavaliers as even if he does not play to their expectation he can be used as a bargaining chip in a potential deal.

After an up and down career in Chicago, Valentine can now get a fresh start in Cleveland – just like former Bulls teammate Lauri Markkanen. Valentine will now battle against Cedi Osman, Dylan Windler and Lamar Stevens for the privilege of backing up Isaac Okoro,” per Fear The Sword. It should be a good battle for playing time between all those players.

The NBA season is right around the corner and it will be very interesting to see if the Cavs make any more moves before the start of training camp. The Cleveland Cavaliers have their starting line-up on lock for the most part. There could be moves depending on injuries or preformance, but as of now it is looking like it will be Issac Okoro, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Darious Garland, and their leading scorer Collin Sexton.

With all of those players coming off good seasons besides the rookie Evan Mobley who has not gotten a chance to show what he can do yet this line-up could be scary especially if they all continue to improve which seems to be what’s happening in Cleveland. The Cavaliers could possibly be a blackhorse for the NBA Playoffs if they play their cards right.
