The Cleveland Cavaliers are still hanging around after a tough loss of their starting point guard and forward Darius Garland and Evan Mobley. Donovan Mitchell, the other member of the Cavalier’s frontcourt, has held down the fort while his friend and teammate heals up. When DG the PG be making his return to action? Hollywood News Daily looks to uncover that information.

Garland’s Injury
A few weeks ago while the Cavs took on the powerhouse Boston Celtics. Darius Garland would collide with Kristaps Porzingis. Garland would return to that game, but the next day it would be announced that he had fractured his jaw. After the Cavaliers took care of the Brooklyn Nets in Paris, Garland’s return may be right around the corner. “He is going to be out for a few more games,” Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff said from Paris on Thursday. According to Cleveland.com.
Garland, whose injury had him timetabled to be reevaluated in a month now has the chance to return before the end of January. Darius is scheduled to have his wiring removed from his mouth on Monday before the team takes on the Chicago Bulls at home. If all goes well in his check-up, the young guard will return to basketball activities. This would be exactly one month after the potential season-altering announcement.

Cavs On The Rise
Since the injury, Garland has not been able to work out at all. That, on top of a liquid-only diet, will have affected his stamina. Garland will need at least a week to ramp back up into playing shape. Luckily, the Cleveland Cavaliers have that next-man-up mentality. Players like Max Strus and Sma Merrill have helped Mitchell keep the ship above water. The Cavalier bench has also played a huge role with players like Caris LeVer, Tristan Thompson, and Craig Porter Jr. all adding scoring.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently holding down the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. This is a very impressive feat as the East is tougher than ever before. Now, as they wait for the reinforcements to arrive in Garland and Mobley the Cleveland Cavaliers could make a real run after the all-star break. The second half of the season is where real basketball is played in the NBA.
The Cavs are right where they want to be as their season has already been plagued with injuries. If they can finish out the regular season healthy, they can go on to redeem themselves in this season’s playoffs. Last season it was an embarrassing first-round exit to the New York Knicks, this season Cleveland needs to flip the script. Can they get it done? Only time will tell, as fans await the return of two key players.
