The bats are awake! The Cleveland Guardians have won back-to-back series and things are looking up! Wednesday night the Cleveland Guardians took on the Baltimore Orioles in Baltimore. Cleveland set a season-high in hits and tied a season-high in runs scored. The Guardians discord a whopping 12 runs in a huge slugfest. Josh Naylor was the MVP of the game. He went 4-5 with a game-tying two-run homer and a go-ahead bases-clearing double!

Fast Action!

Cleveland struck first in what was a bullpen game for Baltimore according to CoveringTheCorner.com. Lefty relief pitcher Keegan Akin got the start and surrendered a one-out RBI double to Jose Ramirez. That scored Steven Kwan from first and gave the Guards an early lead. Shane Bieber got the start for Cleveland. He came out strong, sitting down the first five batters he faced. Then Bieber lost his bearings after he issued back-to-back walks and allowed a bloop RBI single to tie the game.

The very next pitch the number 9 hitter blasted a two-run single into center field making it a 3-1 ballgame. Shabe Bieber then tried to put his glove on a grounder but ended up deflecting it. This allowed the hitter to get an infield RBI single making it a 4-1 Baltimore lead.

Cleveland responded by Andres Gimenez hitting a two-out single through the gap. Scoring two runs and cutting the lead to just one run. Unfortunately the last out would again be a tough one for Bieber as he allowed yet another run making it 5-3 Baltimore. With an Orioles pitching change in the fourth inning and Steven Kwan on first Josh Naylor would tie the game with a deep blast to center field. Right after Josh Bell would follow suit as he gave the Guardians a 6-5 lead with his own homer.

Rough Outing For The Ace

Yet again Bieber would fail to get the third out of an inning and the Orioles would retake the lead with a two-run homer. Nieber’s day was done after that after allowing seven runs. Cleveland was not done yet though! Scoring five runs in the fifth inning topped off by a Gabriel Arias 441-foot homerun.

The Cleveland Guardians wouldn’t look back after that as they finally went on to win the game 12-8 and take the series as they head to Minnesota!
