Cobra Kai is finally returning for Season 3 on Netflix. The fan favorite Karate Kid sequel series will be back in action on January 8, 2021. The show made the move to the streaming service over the summer after the first two seasons originally aired on YouTube Red.

Warning: Spoilers from the first two seasons of Cobra Kai below.

Once the show moved to Netflix, it gained an even bigger following and became one of the most streamed shows of the summer. The series follows the now adult characters of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). Although they’ve aged thirty years, they’re still bitter karate rivals.

Cobra Kai is set to return in January

During the first two seasons, Johnny and Daniel headed rival dojos as their children and students embarked in a rival that surpassed that of their 1980’s drama.

In a newly released teaser for Season 3, fans see a quick recap of the epic high school hallway fight between the Cobra Kai’s and Miyagi-Do, namely Miguel and Robby. That fight ended in tragedy when Miguel was sent to the hospital and deemed critical.

The quick clip reveals Miguel in his hospital bed wearing a halo to keep his spine in place due to his injuries. Towards the end of the trailer he bolts awake from his coma, but it appears that he’ll have a rough road ahead of him before he can hit the karate dojo again.

Speculation has been flying about Season 3

Fans will also notice that the teaser mentions that Season 4 is “in training,” which is a huge reveal that the series has already been picked up for a fourth set of episodes.

There has been a ton of speculation flying about whether or not actress Elizabeth Shue would return to reprise her character, Allie. Fans may remember that Allie was the girl that started the feud between Johnny and Daniel back in the 80s while they were in high school. Her name was mentioned multiple times during the first two seasons.

During the Season 2, Johnny sent Allie a message on Facebook looking to reconnect. In the finale, after Johnny threw his phone away at the beach while in despair over Miguel’s injury and Robby’s involvement, it was revealed that Allie had returned that message. However, if Allie doesn’t return in Season 3, there is still a chance that she’ll show her face at some point in the future.

Meanwhile, fans couldn’t be more excited about the impending return of the hit show.

“Yes!!!! So excited others finally found this amazing Show! Cobra Kai Never Dies!!!!” one fan tweeted.

“Getting my head band ready in January,” remarked another.

“If Stingray needs an assistant security guard, let me know,” a third viewer joked.

“Omg I have been stalking everything that has to do with Cobra Kai waiting for this news,” another person excitedly wrote on social media.
