Conchata Ferrell, Berta From ‘Two And A Half Men’, Dead At 77

Conchata Ferrell has died. The actress who played Berta on the comedy series Two and a Half Men passed away on Monday, October 12 at the age of 77.

According to TMZ, Conchata’s cause of death was complications from a cardiac arrest. The passed away at 12:30 a.m. at Sherman Oaks Hospital in California.

The actress often offered comic relief and sassy one-liners on the series, where she starred opposite Charlie Sheen and John Cryer. She later co-starred with Ashton Kutcher after Sheen left the series.

“She’s that person I wish I could be, and someone I think all of us kind of wish we could be: someone who can just say what’s on her mind and not worry about it,” Conchata told AV Club of her former character.

Conchata reportedly passed away at the hospital while surrounded by her closest friends and family members. The actress had been open about her health issues in the past, revealing that she recently suffered from a kidney infection. She also had a heart attack earlier this year.

The ‘Two and a Half Men’ star had suffered failing health

Back in May, it was revealed that she had suffered a cardiac arrest, which was 10 minutes long. Her husband, Arnie Anderson, confirmed. She spent four weeks in ICU before being moved to a long-term car facility. It was there that she was put on a respiratory unit and dialysis. Her husband revealed that he couldn’t visit her due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Conchata’s career began in the 1970’s. She has appeared on many television shows since that time, including Walker Texas Ranger and JAG. She also appeared in an episode of Friends. During her acting career she also gathered Broadway credits and earned three Emmy nominations.
