Courteney Cox shares emotional statement about Matthew Perry’s death
On Tuesday, Courteney Cox shared a sweet Instagram tribute to Matthew Perry. Cox shared a story about how their on-screen connection changed the trajectory of Monica and Chandler’s relationship. She also confessed how grateful she is to have known the actor.
“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you, Matty and I miss you every day,” Cox wrote via Instagram. “When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now here’s one of my favorites. To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story,” Cox continued.
Along with her post, the actress shared a video clip of Chandler and Monica’s first night together as a couple. “In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind,” she added.

Matt LeBlanc also paid tribute to Matthew Perry on social media
Courteney Cox’s sweet Instagram post came just hours after “Friends” star Matt LeBlanc released a heartbreaking statement about Matthew Perry’s death.
“Matthew, It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life,” he wrote. “It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love,” he continued.
Matthew Perry’s death rocked the Friends cast
After the news of Matthew Perry’s death was revealed on October 28, fans were shocked. Of course, his “Friends” co-stars were also rocked by the news. Days later, the cast, including Cox, LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer, gathered for Perry’s funeral.
Meanwhile, Aniston is said to be taking Perry’s death exceptionally hard. The actress recently lost her father, “Days of Our Lives” icon John Aniston. Now that Perry has also passed, she’s dealing with a lot of grief.
“It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the one-year anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner. She still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet,” the source told Page Six.
