Craig Sager, the man NBA fans have come to know and love for his sideline coverage of the game has revealed his cancer is no longer in remission. Sager has reportedly been told he only has 3-6 months to live.

Craig Sager Shares Cancer Diagnosis

According to The Washington Post, Craig Sager was first diagnosed with cancer in 2014. From there he underwent treatment which included a bone marrow transplant as well as two stem cell transplants. Unfortunately, the cancer returned and the prognosis isn’t good for the beloved member of the NBA family.

“I go, ‘I know, what are the chances?’ And, ‘Well, normally you’ve got three to six months to live. But somebody may only have a week, somebody may have five years. You could be the first one to five years.’

“And I go, ‘Well, whatever it takes.’ I’m not going to be that three to six months, I’m going to be that five years. I’m going to make medical history. … I’m fighting this thing to the end. I have too much to do,” Craig Sager said during an interview with HBO’s “Real Sports.”

While members of the NBA family have sent their well wishes and support to Craig Sager the die-hard basketball lover promises to continue working until he can’t do it any longer. He has a positive attitude and seemingly is willingly to do whatever it takes to try and beat the odds that have so cruelly stacked up against him. We’re pulling for you, Craig!
