Is Creed 2 really happening? No official confirmation on the sequel has been given, but fans and Sylvester Stallone are keeping their fingers crossed. As fans will remember, the 2015 movie featured Adonis, the son of Rocky’s longtime friend and rival, Apollo Creed. Actor Michael B. Jordan portrayed Adonis, a boxer with a chip on his shoulder. Rocky eventually took Adonis under his wing, and Adonis helped Rocky through health problems.
If Creed 2 does happen, a very important person connected to Adonis could make an appearance. Sylvester Stallone has been teasing the movie for awhile now. The actor has been posting behind the scenes Rocky photos on his Instagram page and using the hashtag #Creed2. In one of the photos Stallone is pictured with actor Dolph Lundgren, who portrayed Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. As many fans will remember, Drago is the person who killed Apollo in the ring.
One Instagram caption read, “Here’s a chance to stretch your imagination…HISTORY WILL ALWAYS REPEAT ITSELF IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER, JUST GOT TO BE READY!…Sins of the Father… #creed2”
If the movie does move forward with a sequel, could Ivan Drago return to come face to face with Apollo’s son? Fans would love to see a meeting of the two, and see Adonis’ story continue. Die-hard Rocky fans are hoping that the movie will land a sequel, and are waiting for confirmation.
