Creed III is on the horizon, but its yet to have an official director. However, the franchise’s star, Michael B. Jordan, is said to be in high contention to helm the film.
According to Deadline, MGM is working on putting together the third installment of the Creed saga, and that their waiting to see if Jordan wants to make his directorial debut as well as star in the movie. The actor immediately won over fans in the role of Adonis Creed, the illegitimate son of Rocky Balboa’s biggest foe and best friend, Apollo Creed, in the original series.

Adonis followed in his father’s footsteps, which led him into the boxing ring. However, he needed the help of Apollo’s biggest and best challenger. Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) not taught Adonis everything he knew and the duo formed a loving father/son bond with one another.
Rocky’s actual son, Robert (Milo Ventimiglia) had become estranged from him, while Adonis never knew a father. They needed each other, and the relationship helped them both grow as men. When Rocky was diagnosed with cancer, it was his beloved “Donny” that took care of him.
In the second film, Rocky supported Adonis after his daughter was born def. He also needed him to bounce back after he lost badly to a competitor and found himself in the hospital
Rocky and Adonis’ bond fuels the franchise
At the end of the film, Adonis’ life looks like it’s falling into place. He’s got a loving wife and a successful career. Meanwhile, Rocky decides that it’s time he gets his life back on track. He reconnected with his son, and got to meet his grandson.
There’s no word on where the storyline would take Adonis in the third chapter. In addition, that future is also unclear about the iconic character of Rocky returning in the movie.
Last November, Stallone took to his Instagram account to announce that he was finally saying goodbye to his most memorable character, much to the disappointment of his fans.
He later posted another photo of himself in the prize ring to say one last goodbye to Rocky Balboa.

“Yo, due to the overwhelming and loving response to this wonderful character, I just want to say one last final farewell… Thank you again from the bottom of BOTH our hearts …” Stallone wrote in the caption of the post.
